Sporting Kansas City attempts to get back to winning ways on Friday night when they travel to Southern California to take on Chivas USA. Despite their current four-game losing streak, Sporting KC heads to StubHub Center in second place in the Eastern Conference with a 12-10-6 record in 2014. The cross-conference contest can be seen on KMCI's 38 The Spot and SKCTV across the Midwest or by listening to Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Gran D 1340 AM.
The club's official watch parties will be held at Johnny's Tavern locations in the KC Power & Light District (1310 Grand Boulevard) and Prairie Village (8262 Mission Road). Fans are encouraged to show their support and enjoy select Boulevard draft specials as well as the "Blue Believer" signature cocktail (Drago Berry, Lemon-Lime Red Bull and Blue Curacao).
Chivas USA has struggled at home in 2014 with a 3-8-2 overall record at StubHub Center. Sporting KC enters Friday's match with seven road victories in 2014, tied for most in MLS. Friday's match concludes a three-match road swing for Sporting KC.
Sporting KC striker Dom Dwyer scored his 18th goal of the regular season in Sporting KC's last outing, a 2-1 loss to the New York Red Bulls. Dwyer is now tied with Sporting Legend Preki for most goals scored in a single season in club history. Friday night will be Dwyer's first match versus Chivas USA.
Chivas USA is also in the midst of a losing streak, dropping seven of their last eight contests, most recently falling 3-0 to the Columbus Crew. The Goats will be without the team's leading goalscorer, Erick Torres who will be serving the first of a two-game suspension for a red card received against the LA Galaxy on August 31.
