Coming off a 2-2 draw with the League-leading LA Galaxy last weekend, Sporting Kansas City will conclude their nine-game homestand at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. CT. Saturday’s match, presented by Outback Steakhouse, will be nationally broadcast on Telefutura and shown live locally on KSMO.

Sporting Kansas City trails in the all-time series against the Dynamo with a record of 2-5-4 since the sides first squared off in 2006. Sporting Kansas City holds a record of 1-3-1 at home against Houston, with the lone win coming in last year’s wild, come-from-behind 4-3 victory at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on September 22nd.

Saturday’s match will mark the second meeting between the two clubs in 2011 after a 1-1 draw at Robertson Stadium on July 16th. A first-half free kick goal from Dynamo midfielder Brad Davis put Houston in front, but defender Aurelien Collin scored a 91st minute equalizer to earn a point for Sporting Kansas City in a match that saw Brian Ching and Colin Clark sent off for serious foul play. The match was Sporting Kansas City’s last road fixture before a record-long homestand that will come to a conclusion on Saturday.

The Dynamo (8-8-11), currently sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference, enter Saturday’s contest coming off of a 1-0 loss away to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on August 27th. Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall made four saves, but couldn’t prevent an 86th minute winner from Whitecaps FC midfielder Shea Salinas as the Dynamo were left still searching for their first road win of the year. The Dynamo have earned a total of eight points on the road this season, the third lowest total in the League.

Sporting Kansas City will have very few injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s clash as only defender Daneil Cyrus (L foot fracture) and midfielder Luke Sassano (R knee sprain) will miss out. Houston will be missing midfielder and Home Grown signing Alex Dixon due to a finger fracture on his left hand. Dixon underwent surgery this week.

Both sides will be missing a key defender due to suspension. Collin and Bobby Boswell will both be unavailable due to yellow card accumulation. Sporting KC striker Teal Bunbury returns, having served a mandatory one-match suspension after being shown two yellow cards against FC Dallas.

Tickets for the match are still available, and can be purchased at the LIVESTRONG Sporting Park Box Offices or online here. Fans are encouraged to read Sporting Kansas City’s official parking document prior to arriving at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, as the parking procedures have changed from previous matches.

LIVESTRONG Sporting Park will host a pre-game watch party prior to kickoff in the Member’s Club on Saturday morning, with doors opening at 9:00 a.m. CT for fans to come watch a selection of matches from around Europe, as well as the start of Saturday’s college football schedule. Immediately following the match, ‘Oriole Post’ will perform in the Sprint Plaza as part of the ‘Live at LSP’ concert series. Visit SportingKC.com for more information on Saturday’s match.
