Coming off a 3-2 loss to FC Dallas last weekend, Sporting Kansas City will continue their nine-game homestand at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park against the Los Angeles Galaxy on Monday at 5:00 p.m. CT. Monday’s match will be nationally broadcast by FOX Soccer and is presented by THECOOLTV.

Sporting Kansas City trails in the all-time series against the Galaxy with a record of 17-22-10 since the sides first squared off in 1996. At home, however, Sporting Kansas City holds a 12-8-4 advantage over their Western Conference counterparts.

Monday’s match will mark the second meeting between the two clubs in 2011 after Los Angeles topped Sporting Kansas City by a 4-1 scoreline at The Home Depot Center on May 14th. A Landon Donovan penalty kick just before halftime cancelled out an own goal from Omar Gonzalez as the sides entered the break level at 1-1, but the second half saw strikes from Donovan, Juan Pablo Angel and David Beckham as the Galaxy overcame Sporting Kansas City in convincing fashion.

The Galaxy (13-3-9), currently sitting in first place in the Western Conference, enter Monday's contest following a 2-0 win over Costa Rican side LD Alajuense on August 25th in CONCACAF Champions League play. Gonzalez finished a header from a corner kick and forward Chad Barrett slotted home from a Sean Franklin pass as Josh Saunders helped preserve the clean sheet in goal for the Galaxy.

Sporting Kansas City will receive a significant fitness boost ahead of Monday’s clash. Defender Daneil Cyrus (L foot fracture) and midfielder Luke Sassano (R knee sprain) are both out while only Craig Rocastle (doubtful, R knee sprain), Birahim Diop (questionable, groin strain) and Milos Stojcev (probable, R ankle sprain) approach Monday’s match less than fully fit.

Teal Bunbury, back in Kansas City following a training camp with the UnitedStates Men’s National Team, will serve his mandatory one-match suspension after being shown two yellow cards against FC Dallas. Forward Kei Kamara will also be unavailable due to international duty with Sierra Leone.

For Los Angeles, defender Gregg Berhalter (R foot sprain) will miss out, while goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts (L ulna fracture), midfielder Jovan Kirovski (L ankle sprain) and Beckham (back spasms) are all listed as questionable.

A limited amount of tickets for the match are still available, and can be purchased here. Due to high demand, a group of standing-room only tickets have also been made available for purchase. Standing-room only tickets are priced at $20 and can only be purchased online or at the box offices at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park.

Fans are encouraged to arrive to LIVESTRONG Sporting Park as early as possible on Monday. Immediately following the match, DJ Mike Scott will perform in the Member’s Club.
