Revisiting the U.S. MNT's unbeaten past at Children's Mercy Park

World-class Childrenā€™s Mercy Park will host five matches in the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup from July 11-18, including all three of the United States Menā€™s National Team fixtures in Group B. Palpable buzz surround the tournament in Kansas City as Sporting midfielder Gianluca Busio headlines a 23-man roster looking to claim the country's seventh Gold Cup championship. Head coach Gregg Berhalter's side will have reason to be confident, as well, as Children's Mercy Park has treated the U.S. MNT quite favorably in the past.

Indeed, in six previous visits to Children's Mercy Park, the unbeaten Americans have come away with five wins and a draw.

As we approach Sunday's doubleheader in Kansas City, we take a look back at the U.S. MNT's previous success at the venue in the space below.

USA 1-0 Guadeloupe (June 14, 2011)

Children's Mercy Park hosted the U.S. MNT for the first time in the nightcap of a CONCACAF Gold Cup doubleheader. Playing its first ever match in the state of Kansas, the U.S. beat Guadeloupe 1-0 to progress to the knockout stage.

USA 3-1 Guatemala (Oct. 16, 2012)

Graham Zusi and the United States booked a place in the final round of 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying with a 3-1 win over Guatemala. The Sporting Kansas City winger started in front of his home fans as Clint Dempseyā€™s first-half brace ensured the U.S. would be competing in the Concacaf Hexagonal the following year.

USA 2-0 Jamaica (Oct. 11, 2013)

Having already punched their ticket to Brazil, the United States beat Jamaica 2-0 to secure top spot in CONCACAFā€™s final World Cup qualifying stage. To the delight of a sellout crowd, second-half substitute Graham Zusi scored the game-winner while centerback Matt Besler helped the U.S. post a shutout in his first international match at Children's Mercy Park.

USA 1-1 Panama (July 13, 2015)

With first place in the Gold Cup group stage already sealed, the U.S. played Panama to a 1-1 draw in the final Group A fixture of the 2015 tournament. Blas Perez's first-half strike was canceled out by Michael Bradley's second-half equalizer for the Americans.

USA 4-0 Bolivia (May 28, 2016)

Teenage phenom and current U.S. MNT star Christian Pulisic scored his first career international goal at Children's Mercy Park to ignite a 4-0 friendly win over Bolivia in a tune-up for the Copa America Centenario.

USA 1-0 Panama (June 26, 2019)

The U.S. rounded out a perfect Gold Cup group stage campaign with a 1-0 win as Jozy Altidore found the back of the net in the 66th minute.
