Sporting Kansas City defender Seth Sinovic was selected by the Montreal Impact in the 2011 Expansion Draft on Wednesday.
Sinovic, who joined Sporting Kansas City in May of 2011, appeared in 20 matches during SportingKansas City’s run to the Eastern Conference final.
“Seth was a solid player in his short spell for us, and we are sorry to lose him,” Sporting Kansas City manager Peter Vermes said. “We wish him nothing but success in the future.”
Sporting Kansas City was allowed to protect 11 players, unveiled on Monday, while Generation adidas and Home Grown Players were automatically exempt from the expansion draft.
