Sporting KC Uphoria is about to make Sunday’s experience at Children’s Mercy Park even better.
With Sporting Kansas City and Seattle Sounders FC set for a nationally televised showdown at 2 p.m. CT on ESPN and ESPN Deportes, the club’s official mobile app will offer supporters a variety of perks to make the occasion all the more enjoyable.
If you haven’t downloaded Sporting KC Uphoria and signed up for a free account, here are six reasons you’ll want to do so before Sunday’s match against Seattle.
Shirtless Zusi on MySKC Cam
Back by popular demand, MySKC Cam will feature an overlay of a shirtless Sporting KC star. First it was Dom Dwyer. Now it’s Graham Zusi’s turn — six-pack and all — to pose for pictures with SKC Nation.
Simply open MySKC Cam on the app’s home screen and swipe left or right until you find the Zusi overlay. All photos taken can be shared to social networks, saved to your smartphone, or shared with Sporting KC for an appearance on the Children’s Mercy Park videoboard.
Free Breyers ice cream from Price Chopper
What’s better than ice cream on a scorching summer day? Free ice cream!
And that’s exactly what’s in store for Uphoria users on Sunday when Price Chopper offers app users a free 48-oz. carton of Breyers ice cream. The deal will remain valid through the end of Tuesday and redemption is easy: simply show the offer card and a Price Chopper rewards card to the cashier at your Kansas City-area location to enjoy a family-sized pack of delicious ice cream for absolutely free.
#CapFedSKC photo contest
The Cap Fed SKC Moments have long been a staple of Sporting Kansas City’s gameday experience. Now Capitol Federal is getting in on the Uphoria fun, as two Cap Fed photo filters will be available on MySKC Cam. The first 10 fans to snap a picture using these filters and show the photo at the Capitol Federal activation spot in the Sprint Plaza will receive a co-branded Sporting KC scarf for free.
In addition, fans will be able to enter the Cap Fed SKC Moments contest by using the Uphoria overlays and posting photos to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #capfedskc for the next two home games on Sunday and July 31. As long as they’re wearing Sporting gear, supporters can enter the contest from anywhere — whether they’re in the stadium, at No Other Pub or in the comfort of their own home. Contest winners will receive two tickets to an upcoming game, an autographed soccer ball and be
entered to win a phenomenal grand prize
at season's end.
Vote for AT&T Man of the Match
To echo a prevailing sentiment during election years, your vote matters. So immediately after the final whistle, open Uphoria and cast your vote for the AT&T Man of the Match. Jimmy Medranda, Roger Espinoza and Benny Feilhaber have led the way in recent weeks, but there’s no telling who will be the star on Sunday. Is shirtless Zusi poised for another standout performance? Will Dwyer catch fire in front of goal? Will Tim Melia come up big between the posts?
Concession offers from Legends Hospitality
Depending on how the action unfolds on the pitch, Uphoria users could be in for a special treat courtesy of Legends Hospitality. If Dwyer scores, fans can show an offer card at checkout for buy-one-get-one (BOGO) pretzels at The Grill (sections 114 and 129) or Sporting Fare (sections 101 and 127).
If Sporting KC scores twice, BOGO hot dogs will be available to Uphoria users at Sporting Fare in sections 101 and 127. The deals are limited to one per customer, and only one of the aforementioned offers — whichever happens first — will become active on Sunday.
Tix City Seat Upgrades
