The 2016 Major League Soccer regular season resumes this evening with a nationally televised showdown between Orlando City SC and New York City FC. Tonight’s match features reigning MLS Rookie of the Year Cyle Larin and former World Player of the Year Kaka against former World Cup champions David Villa and Andrea Pirlo.
Tonight’s match, which will kick off at 6 p.m. CT on UniMas, will be the first of three nationally televised MLS games this weekend.
On Sunday, the ESPN2/FS1 doubleheader begins at 4 p.m. CT when the Colorado Rapids visit RFK Stadium to take on D.C. United. The Rapids are coming off a surprise 1-0 victory over the LA Galaxy, but will be without Designated Player Shkelzen Gashi who will serve a one-game suspension for coming back on to the field of play after being substituted from last weekend’s match. D.C. United are looking for their first win of 2016 after going 0-1-1 through two matches.
The final national TV match of the weekend will take place right here in Kansas City as Sporting KC hosts Toronto FC in a battle of unbeaten clubs. Toronto FC brings a star-studded cast to town featuring 2015 MLS MVP Sebastian Giovinco and U.S. Men’s National Team captain Michael Bradley. The match will kick off at 6 p.m. CT with coverage on FS1, FOX Deportes and FOX Sports Go.
