A Soccer Sunday unlike any other: U.S. Women and Men fight for titles

Women's World Cup Watch Party - Flag Flying - July 2, 2019

Make no mistake about it: Sunday is what soccer dreams are made of.

In the space of 12 momentous hours, the U.S. Women’s National Team will play for their second straight FIFA World Cup title and the U.S. Men’s National Team will battle Mexico in the Concacaf Gold Cup Final.

Indeed, Sunday is the most anticipated day of the year on the soccer calendar, and fans of all ages can enjoy every moment of the action from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. CT with free watch parties at KC Live! and No Other Pub in the Kansas City Power & Light District.

Women Fight for World Cup Glory

The action begins early as the U.S. WNT faces Netherlands in Lyon, France, looking to claim the country’s fourth World Cup and put an exclamation point on what has been a dominant tournament campaign thus far.

Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. CT on FOX and the KC Live! Block is expected to fill up fast, so fans are encouraged to arrive early. FOX will broadcast live look-ins to the Power & Light District throughout the game, giving Kansas City the opportunity to showcase its one-of-a-kind watch party atmosphere to viewers around the globe.

Copa America Final

At 3 p.m. CT, hosts Brazil will meet underdogs Peru in the 2019 Copa America Final on ESPN Plus. The star-studded Brazilians have looked increasingly formidable throughout the tournament, but the Cinderella story lies with a Peru side dreaming of its first Copa America title since 1975.

Rivalry Renewed

Concacaf’s fiercest rivalry will be renewed at 8 p.m. CT Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago when the U.S. MNT squares off with Mexico. The Americans have endured a trying two years since missing out on the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but a victory over El Tri on Sunday would immediately rekindle hope and optimism surrounding the U.S. MNT. Fans can catch the action live on FS1.

But That’s Not All

Sprinkle in a Swope Park Rangers home match against first-place Tampa Bay Rowdies at Children’s Mercy Park, plus two MLS matches on national TV, and Sunday’s slate of soccer offers something for everyone.
