Sporting finish regular season #2 in Power Rankings

Sporting finish regular season #2 in Power Rankings -

Sporting Kansas City finish the regular season near the top of this week's MLS Power Rankings. They are #2 on ESPNFC.com, MLSSoccer.com, Goal.com, and FoxSoccer.com. KC will have home field advantage at least through the Eastern Conference and possibly in MLS Cup (if they face any team besides San Jose). Below are some excerpts from the power rankings and what they are saying about Sporting KC.

ESPNFC.com's Jeff Carlisle

"SKC finished the regular season on a high in beating Philadelphia 2-1 in midweek. The big question now centers on the health of midfielder Roger Espinoza, whose grit and energy could be the difference between a lengthy playoff run and an early exit."

MLSSoccer.com

"After looking listless at New York, they physically dominated a very game Philly team in the regular-season finale. Kei Kamara’s playing as well as he has all year, the central defensive pairing is set and the only question remaining is about their finishing. They actually outshot the Quakes this year, but scored 30 fewer goals. C.J. Sapong needs to become the man."

Goal.com's Avi Creditor

"Chicago or Houston? It shouldn't matter. If Sporting wants to lift MLS Cup, then it must brush aside all comers and validate its status as the Eastern Conference favorite."
