U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team head coach Alex Aldaz has named a 20-player roster for the team’s upcoming training camp to be held June 1-11 in Natal, Brazil, including Sporting Kansas City Academy forward Kashan Hines. This is Hines' first youth national team call up after the striker has stepped up for Sporting KC II in MLS NEXT Pro this season.

During the camp, the USA will face Brazil in two friendly matches on June 7 (3 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. local) and June 10 (7 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. local). Both matches will be played at Arena das Dunas in Natal, famously the site of the U.S. Men’s National Team’s 2-1 win against Ghana in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Ten different MLS club setups are represented on this month’s roster, with the Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew and Red Bull New York each sending two players. Atlanta United, FC Dallas, Sporting Kansas City, LA Galaxy, New York City FC, Philadelphia Union and San Jose Earthquakes are each represented by one player on the roster.

Six European clubs also send one player to U-17 MNT camp: AC Milan (Italy), Atlético Madrid (Spain), Augsburg (Germany), Brentford (England), Girona (Spain) and PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands).

This month’s camp is part of the Federation’s continued focus on the U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.

All players were born on or after January 1, 2009.

Hines joined the Sporting Kansas City Academy in the Spring of 2023, making his debut at the prestigious Patterson Cup as a member of Sporting's U-14s. In 2024, Hines helped Sporting's U-15s finish second in the GA Cup Premier Bracket before scoring in the first round of the 2024 MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs for the U-17s. He made his pro debut as a second half substitute on Aug. 8, 2025, in an SKC II home match against Austin FC II.

He has been in terrific form this season, starting eight of 14 appearances, and scoring three goals, tied for the team lead. His first professional goal came in the form of the game winner against Whitecaps FC 2, earning him the MLS NEXT Rising Star of Matchweek 7 title. He has scored in two of his last three starts and appeared in every SKC II game this season.
