In conjunction with Wednesday’s Retro Night showdown against Seattle Sounders FC at Children’s Mercy Park, Sporting Kansas City and UMB Financial Corporation unveiled nine commemorative UMB Pylons that pay tribute to current members of the Sporting Legends hall of honor.
Located inside the UMB Premium Entry on the northwest side of Children’s Mercy Park, each UMB Pylon is dedicated to a Sporting Legend, detailing the player’s career accomplishments and accolades with the club and his country. All nine pylons also include a historic artifact donated by a Sporting Legend, as listed at the bottom of this page.
Former Kansas City striker Mo Johnston was inducted as the ninth Sporting Legend in an on-field pregame ceremony Wednesday night prior to Sporting Kansas City’s 3-0 victory over Seattle.
