Sporting KC announces partnership with Google Fiber

Today, Sporting Kansas City announced Google Fiber as the club's Official Internet Service Provider in a new three-year partnership that will last through the 2024 Major League Soccer season.

Google Fiber will serve as the presenting partner of Sporting Kansas City’s local broadcast streams on SportingKC.com and the Sporting KC mobile app in 2022, and Google Fiber will also be the presenting partner for mobile ordering at Children’s Mercy Park on Sporting KC matchdays.

Sporting fans will have access to a stadium “fast lane” sponsored by Google Fiber when attending matches at Children’s Mercy Park. The fast lane will provide expedited entry through an exclusive lane for all fans who seek to enter the match without bags of any kind.

The multi-faceted partnership between Sporting Kansas City and Google Fiber will be highly visible for fans with integration of Google Fiber branding on the Sporting KC app, SportingKC.com and digital displays throughout Children’s Mercy Park. Google Fiber will have the opportunity to further showcase the partnership with activations on the Mazuma Plaza at Children’s Mercy Park and as an official kit sponsor for a Sporting Kansas City Academy Affiliate, in addition to branding at Compass Minerals Sporting Fields, Central Bank Sporting Complex and Swope Soccer Village.

Google Fiber’s award-winning fiber optic internet offers 1- and 2-gigabit plans for Kansas City residents, small businesses and property managers. The plans give users the opportunity to connect to fast, reliable and fairly-priced internet with free installation and without data caps, annual contracts or hidden fees.

In 2011, Kansas City became the first of now 17 Google Fiber metro areas across the country. Google Fiber now serves Brookside, the Northland, Overland Park, Argentine, Lee’s Summit, Olathe, Raymore and many more neighborhoods and municipalities across the metropolitan area. Google Fiber Spaces are located near Westport and Zona Rosa in Kansas City, as well as a kiosk inside Oak Park Mall.

Google Fiber’s commitment to, and impact in, the local community is highlighted by several signature initiatives, including providing free gigabit internet for families in eight public housing communities and for hundreds of other neighborhood institutions to help people access online resources. In addition, Google Fiber has promoted digital literacy skills and programs with the Digital Inclusion Fellowship, in collaboration with the Nonprofit Technology Network, and multiple other partnerships with local nonprofit organizations.
