Led by new head coach Raphael Wicky, Sporting’s preseason roster consists of the 17 players under MLS contract in 2026, including newcomers Kwaku Agyabeng, Stefan Cleveland, Justin Reynolds and Cielo Tschantret. Also joining the squad are Sporting KC II midfielders Shane Donovan and Johann Ortiz, unsigned MLS SuperDraft pick Nikos Clarke-Tosczak, trialists Ethan Bartlow, Wyatt Meyer and Jayden Reid and eight Sporting KC Academy standouts.
Zorhan Bassong is currently with the Canada National Team for a training camp in California and Sporting KC II goalkeeper Jacob Molinaro is with the U.S. Under-19 National Team in Arizona. Both players will join the team in Florida at the conclusion of their training camps.
Sporting’s second-round selection from the 2026 MLS SuperDraft, Sadam Masereka, has signed with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks in the USL Championship and will not be joining the team for preseason. The team’s third-round pick, Blake D’Agostino, has elected to return to Cal Baptist for his junior season in 2026. Masereka and D’Agostino will remain on Sporting’s College Protected List until December of 2027.
