Sporting Kansas City II announced today the club's 2020 preseason schedule, consisting of four February friendlies as head coach Paulo Nagamura's side prepares for its fifth year in the USL Championship.

The preseason slate will open on Saturday, Feb. 15, when Sporting II travels to face regional rival OKC Energy FC at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas. Seven days later, Sporting II will host Iowa Western Community College in the lone preseason contest at Swope Soccer Village.

The club will then venture south for two tune-ups in the space of three days, meeting reigning USL League One champion North Texas SC on Feb. 27 and rebranded USL Championship side FC Tulsa on Feb. 29. Toyota Soccer Center will play host to the first game, while the preseason finale will take place at Titan Sports Complex in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Sporting II's current roster is highlighted by Sporting Kansas City Academy products Wilson Harris and Kaveh Rad, 22-year-old Portuguese winger Ze Pedro and USL Championship veteran Christian Duke.

Harris led the team with 11 goals last season as one of the top-scoring teenagers in American professional soccer, Rad was a staple along the backline and signed a fully professional USL contract this week, and Ze Pedro tallied five goals and three assists in just 12 appearances last fall. Duke, meanwhile, captained the club in 2016 and 2017 and has returned to his hometown in 2020 as the most experienced player on the team. He is the older brother of Sporting KC Homegrown Player Cameron Duke.

For the second straight year, Sporting II will host all USL Championship home fixtures at world-class Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas. Nagamura's men will open the 2020 regular season campaign on Sunday, March 8, hosting the Charlotte Independence at 4 p.m. CT. Tickets for home matches will be available at in the near future.
