Sporting Kansas City and LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City announced today a joint fan event to be held on Thursday, April 5, at Crown Center to unveil a one-of-a-kind LIVESTRONG Sporting Park LEGO model. The LEGO model is approximately eight feet wide, seven feet deep and four feet tall. The special event will be free and open to the public from 5-6:30 p.m. CT in the atrium at Crown Center and will feature numerous family-friendly activities for fans, including ticket giveaways and LEGO contests, as well as photo and autograph opportunities with Sporting Kansas City players, team mascot Blue and LEGO mascot Buddy.
The first 200 fans to register their attendance at Thursday’s event will receive a complimentary ticket to Sporting Kansas City’s match on May 27 against the San Jose Earthquakes at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. Event attendees will also be eligible to participate in a “Guess the Bricks” contest, soliciting estimates on the total number of LEGO bricks used to build the stadium model. The winner will receive a free Combo Annual Pass, which provides unlimited access for 12 months to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City and SEA LIFE Aquarium Kansas City.
Local LEGO master model builder Jeremiah Boehr will emcee the event and will also judge a timed LEGO building contest between Sporting Kansas City players with the help of kids from the audience. Participants on the winning team will each receive a Combo Annual Pass and a Sporting KC t-shirt.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City, scheduled to open at Crown Center in May, will feature the LIVESTRONG Sporting Park replica model amongst other Kansas City landmarks in the center’s MINILAND. Fans can have their photos taken with the model after it is unveiled on Thursday, and it will remain on display at Crown Center for one week following its debut.
