Sporting Kansas City midfielder Ilie earned MLS Team of the Week honors for Week 31 after helping his team to a 1-1 draw at Minnesota United FC on Saturday.
The 26-year-old Spaniard helped set up Diego Rubio's goal in first-half stoppage time and served as a vital cog in the middle of the pitch, finishing with a game-high 58 successful passes and leading all MLS players over the weekend with 12 recoveries.
Ilie has enjoyed an excellent first season in Major League Soccer, starting 35 of Sporting KC's 36 matches this season in all competitions. He is fourth in MLS with 61 successful passes per game and ranks fourth among MLS midfielders with 58 interceptions.
