Sporting Kansas City midfielder Jorge Claros will join the Honduras Men's National Team on Saturday for a pair of upcoming friendlies. Honduras will play Mexico on October 9 at Estadio Victor Manuel Reyna in Chiapas, Mexico, before traveling to Florida to take on the United States on October 14 at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

A World Cup veteran, Claros has featured more than 40 times for Honduras at the senior level. The 28-year-old midfielder appeared in all three group stage matches for Honduras at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Sporting KC acquired Claros in July from Honduran club Motagua. Since then, Claros has played in 11 matches in all competitions, including all three 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League group stage matches.

The veteran midfielder will miss Sporting KC's October 10 home match versus rivals Chicago Fire, but will return in time for the October 18 road match against the Philadelphia Union.

Claros began his professional career at Honduran club Vida in 2004 and signed for Motagua a year later. The defensive midfielder helped the team win Liga Nacional titles during the 2007-08 Apertura and 2010-11 Clausura, as well as the 2007 Copa Interclubes UNCAF. He joined Scottish side Hibernian on loan in January 2012 and played 53 matches for the club in all competitions with 48 starts, including the 2012 and 2013 Scottish Cup Finals. He returned to CD Motagua in May 2013.
