Sporting KC passes on selection in 2014 Dispersal Draft

Major League Soccer held the 2014 Dispersal Draft today for former Chivas USA players. Sporting KC passed on their selection with the third pick in the draft.


Seven teams selected players in the draft, highlighted by FC Dallas' selection of MLS All-Star goalkeeper Dan Kennedy with the No. 1 overall pick. All players selected in the draft agreed to take those players at their full 2015 budget charges.


Any players who went unselected during the Dispersal Draft will take part in the Re-Entry Draft, if eligible, or will be made available via the Waiver Draft on Wednesday, Dec. 10. Phase 1 of the Re-Entry Draft will take place on Friday, Dec. 12 with the second phase scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 18. There will also be a half-day trade window on Monday, Dec. 8 with the Expansion Draft set for Dec. 10.
