The Sporting Kansas City Academy continued their strong start to the 2014-15 USSDA season last weekend, going 1-0-1 in weekend matches vs. the Texas Rush at Swope Soccer Village.
The Sporting KC U-18s defeated the Rush 2-1 with goals from Daniel Salloi and Dominick Parry. Salloi's goal was his fourth in five games while Parry's tally was his second of the year.
After five games, the Sporting KC U-18s are currently in fourth place in the Central Conference with a 3-1-1 record and a 2.00 points per game average.
The Sporting KC U-16s are still searching for their first win of the year after drawing the Rush 1-1 on Saturday. Paul Whitener scored his second goal of the year, putting the home side ahead in the 31st minute before Anthony Cavalli-Singer leveled the match minutes later.
All four Sporting KC Academy teams are in action this weekend with the U-16s and U-18s traveling to Tulsa, Oklahoma to take on FC Dallas. The U-14s will travel to Indianapolis for a U-14 USSDA Regional Showcase, while the U-12s will play the KC Fusion at 10 a.m. at Swope.
