Sporting Kansas City announced today that the club has waived defender Ben Sweat.
Sweat, 31, joined Sporting ahead of the 2022 season. He started 26 of his 29 appearances for the club in all competitions, adding three assists from the left back position.
Sporting will continue its 2023 MLS campaign on Saturday by hosting the Colorado Rapids at Children’s Mercy Park. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. CT matchup are available at SeatGeek.com and the action will air live on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV, Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.
