Sporting KC waives midfielder Uri Rosell

Sporting Kansas City announced today that the club has waived midfielder Uri Rosell.

Rosell, 30, made 20 appearances for Sporting in all competitions last season. His first stint in Kansas City spanned from 2012-2014 as he helped the club capture the 2013 MLS Cup.

With today’s roster move, Sporting now has 27 players under MLS contracts for the 2023 season.

Led by 15th-year manager Peter Vermes, Sporting Kansas City will kick off the 2023 MLS campaign on Feb. 25 with a trip to the Portland Timbers. After visiting the Colorado Rapids on March 4, Sporting will host their Week 3 home opener on March 11 by facing the LA Galaxy at Children’s Mercy Park.
