SPORTING HOSTS SAN JOSE ON AUG. 26

Sporting Kansas City's run in Leagues Cup 2023 ended Friday with a 4-1 loss to Deportivo Toluca FC in the Round of 32.

Manager Peter Vermes' side will now look ahead to the stretch run of the 2023 MLS regular season, which will continue on Aug. 26 when the San Jose Earthquakes visit Children's Mercy Park on Throwback Night. The occasion will see Sporting celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the club's 2013 MLS Cup season, headlined by the halftime recognition of several fan favorites including Matt Besler, Benny Feilhaber, Chance Myers, Paulo Nagamura, Jimmy Nielsen, Ike Opara, Seth Sinovic and other members of the championship team. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. CT matchup between Sporting and San Jose on Aug. 26 are available at SeatGeek.com while supplies last.

SPORTING KC II ON THE RISE

Voted the MLS NEXT Pro Team of the Week for the month of July, Sporting Kansas City II will look to continue their winning ways with two matches this week. The club will travel to face Tacoma Defiance at 9 p.m. CT Wednesday before hosting Portland Timbers 2 at 6 p.m. CT Sunday at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kansas (tickets), with both games streaming live on MLSNEXTPro.com.

VICTORY GALA ON FRIDAY

On Friday, The Victory Project will host its annual Victory Gala beginning at 6 p.m. CT at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas. Guests will join Sporting Kansas City leadership for cocktails, dinner, a fundraising auction and an after-party in support of The Victory Project, the club's philanthropic foundation dedicated to helping children through all of life's challenges.

ACADEMY BEGINS PRESEASON

Five Sporting Kansas City Academy teams at the U-13 through U-19 levels will begin preseason training this week ahead of the 2023-24 MLS NEXT campaign. The U-14s and U-13s will open their preseason slates at Swope Soccer Village with Saturday tune-ups against Sporting Nebraska at 11 a.m. CT and 1 p.m. CT, respectively. SUMMER CAMP

Sporting KC Youth Soccer will host its next Summer Camp today through Thursday at Heritage Park Soccer Fields in Olathe, Kansas (17255 Lackman Rd.).
