Sporting KC vs Toronto FC - Sporting Park |
Sporting Kansas City will host Toronto FC at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Sporting Park. The match, sponsored by Price Chopper, will be shown live on KMCI-TV 38 The Spot locally and on SKCTV across the Midwest with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. CT. A limited number of tickets, including standing room only tickets, are available on Ticketmaster.com.
Prior to the match, Sporting Style will host the third annual Season Ticket Member Sale beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT in the Sprint Plaza at Sporting Park. Merchandise will be available exclusively to current Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Members at costs at least 50% off retail price while supplies last and those who check out between 5:30-6:30 p.m. CT will receive an additional 10% off.
The reigning MLS Cup champions will train at 9 a.m. CT on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week at the Swope Soccer Village (6310 Lewis Rd.) in Kansas City, MO. The team's weekly press conference will take place at 11 a.m. CT on Friday at the training facility with Manager Peter Vermes and a Sporting KC player. All media are encouraged to attend for photo, video and interview opportunities.
Numerous Sporting Kansas City players will make special appearances in the community throughout the week. Fans who would like to attend an autograph signing session with Sporting KC captain Matt Besler on Thursday can secure a limited pass at the Sprint store at the Legends Outlets (1813 Village West Pkwy., Kansas City, KS) from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. CT today.
Four additional Sporting KC players -- C.J. Sapong, Andy Gruenebaum, Seth Sinovic and Antonio Dovale -- will meet fans and customers at Capitol Federal (22400 Midland Drive) in Shawnee, Kansas from 3 until 4:30 p.m. CT today. During the event, refreshments will be available, children can receive a Blue Bucks soccer ball while supplies last and all in attendance can register for additional prizes.
On Wednesday, Sporting KC forward Soony Saad will participate in a meet-and-greet at the Subway location (6250 Missouri 150) in Grandview, Missouri from 3:30 until 5 p.m. CT. Then on Thursday, MLS All-Star Dom Dwyer will visit the Subway (11220 W. 135th St.) in Overland Park, Kansas from 3:30 until 5 p.m. CT as part of a month-long series of autograph opportunities. The first 100 fans will receive a free t-shirt.
Delaware North Companies (DNC) is hiring for all food and beverage positions during a job fair from 3 until 7 p.m. CT today at Sporting Park (1 Sporting Way, Kansas City, KS). Interested candidates must be at least 18 years of age to apply and must be 21 years of age to sell alcoholic beverages. Parking for the job fair is available in Lot D and all attending should enter through the security entrance on the east side of the stadium.
A new edition of The Sporting KC Show will air from 7-8 p.m. CT tonight on Sports Radio 810 WHB with hosts Callum Williams and Carter Augustine. Fans can listen live on 810 AM, 810whb.com or via the station's free mobile app, and can also join the discussion by calling 913-3-810-810.
Sporting KC goalkeeper Jon Kempin is a nominee for MLS Save of the Week after stopping Darren Mattocks' penalty kick on his MLS debut on Sunday. Voting is available online at MLSsoccer.com through 1:59 a.m. CT on Friday.
