Sporting Kansas City will kick off play in Leagues Cup 2023 when the club visits MLS Supporters' Shield leaders FC Cincinnati at 6:30 p.m. CT on Sunday in the team's first ever trip to TQL Stadium.

The inaugural edition of the Leagues Cup competition will feature all 47 clubs from MLS (29 teams) and LIGA MX (18 teams) in a World Cup-style tournament from July 21-August 19 with the top three teams qualifying for the 2024 Concacaf Champions League.

The opening match for Group 3 of the Central Region between Sporting KC and FC Cincinnati will be broadcast on Apple TV in English and Spanish for MLS Season Pass subscribers. In addition, local radio coverage will air on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM with streams in the Sporting KC app.  All of the action will also be shown by pub partners in the Sporting Pub Network, including an enhanced watch party on Sunday at Jefferson's (14944 W 87th St.) in Lenexa, Kansas.

WORLD CUP SPECIAL TO DEBUT ON KSHB 41 ON TUESDAY

On Tuesday, a World Cup Special featuring Sporting KC President and CEO Jake Reid - named KC2026 Board Vice President in May - will debut on KSHB 41 from 6:30-7 p.m. CT. The story of how Kansas City landed the FIFA World Cup 2026 is scheduled to re-air at 10:30 a.m. CT on July 30 and 4 p.m. CT on Aug. 13.

NATI CLARKE IN MLS NEXT ALL-STAR GAME ON WEDNESDAY

On Wednesday, Sporting KC Academy defender Nati Clarke will participate in the MLS NEXT All-Star Game presented by Allstate at the Naval Academy's Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in Annapolis, Maryland. Kickoff is set for 9:30 a.m. CT and will be streamed live from MLS NEXT’s ( @mlsnext) TikTok account.

SKC DUO IN SPECIAL OLYMPICS UNIFIED SPORTS ALL-STAR GAME

In addition, Matt Braithwaite and Joseph Toland will represent Sporting Kansas City at the Special Olympics Unified Sports All-Star Game presented by MLS WORKS and Coke Zero Sugar at 2 p.m. CT on Wednesday in Annapolis and will be recognized on field during the MLS All-Star Game on Wednesday night.

WOMEN'S WORLD CUP WATCH PARTY FOR USWNT ON FRIDAY

Sporting KC and the KC Current will host a watch party at 8 p.m. CT on Friday in KC Live! at the Kansas City Power & Light District for the U.S. Women's National Team's opening match of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. Fans of all ages are invited to cheer on the No. 1 ranked USWNT alongside fellow soccer supporters and FOX is expected to have a camera in Kansas City to capture the sights and sounds as part of the network's World Cup coverage. Tickets for admission to the watch party are free to reserve in advance via SeatGeek and entry to KC Live! will begin 90 minutes prior to kickoff.

SPORTING KC II VISIT NORTH TEXAS SC ON SATURDAY

After a 2-1 win on Sunday, Sporting KC II will continue the MLS NEXT Pro campaign when SKC II travels to face North Texas SC at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Western Conference match-up will stream live on Apple TV via MLS Season Pass and fans can follow @SportingKCII on Twitter  for updates throughout the season.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR SPORTING REC LEAGUE ON SUNDAY 

Regular registration will close on Sunday for the Fall 2023 season of Sporting Rec League at Compass Minerals Sporting Fields in Kansas City, Kansas, Central Bank Sporting Complex in Kansas City, Missouri and Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex in Olathe, Kansas for pre-k through 3rd/4th grade divisions.
