Sporting KC at Toronto FC - 38 the Spot, SKCTV

With five wins in the team's last six MLS matches, Sporting Kansas City has re-claimed first place in the Eastern Conference. The reigning MLS Cup champions will now host Premier League winners Manchester City FC at 8 p.m. CT on Wednesday at Sporting Park live on ESPN2, WatchESPN and ESPN Deportes. A limited number of tickets are available for the Champions Shield match-up and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com.


Manchester City FC will host an open training session at 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday at Sporting Park. The event is free to the public to attend with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. CT and will include photo opportunities with the MLS Cup, Premier League and Champions Shield trophies. Fans can also see the trophies in person at Kansas Sampler Oak Park (9750 Quivira, Lenexa, KS) from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday.


Following Wednesday's match, Sporting Kansas City will return to the road to take on Toronto FC at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday at BMO Field. The Eastern Conference match-up will air live locally on KMCI 38 the Spot and across the Midwest on SKCTV with coverage starting at 5:30 p.m. CT.


The team's official watch parties will be held at the Johnny's Tavern locations in the KC Power & Light District (1310 Grand Blvd.) and Overland Park (6765 W. 119th St.). Fans of all ages are welcome to attend; those 21 and up can take advantage of Boulevard draft specials, as well as the Blue Believer signature cocktail.


The Sporting KC Academy U14's will compete at the 2014 U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships this week in Germantown, Maryland. The squad represents Region II and will begin play at 7 a.m. CT on Tuesday against United FA 00 Elite in a match streamed live at championships.usyouthsoccer.org/live. Voting will end later this week for two polls on MLSsoccer.com. Midfielder Benny Feilhaber's stoppage-time game-winner in Columbus is nominated for MLS Goal of the Week, while Brandi Leggett represents Sporting Kansas City in this year's MLS WORKS Community MVP contest.
