Sporting to stream inaugural Kansas City Wiz match at 8 p.m. CT Tuesday

Tuesday at 8 p.m. CT, SportingKC.com/live and the Sporting KC app are throwing it back to the very beginning.

The beginning, of course, is April 13, 1996, when the Kansas City Wiz welcomed over 21,000 fans to Arrowhead Stadium for their inaugural MLS match against the Colorado Rapids.

That momentous day in Kansas City soccer history will celebrate its 25-year anniversary on Tuesday. In the historic encounter, Digital Takawira wasted no time becoming a folk hero by scoring twice and longtime United States international Frank Klopas also found the score sheet as the Wiz prevailed 3-0.

SportingKC.com/live and the Sporting KC app will stream the historic showdown in its entirety on Tuesday night, featuring second-stream commentary from multiple former players who competed in the game and pop-up factoids to enrich the viewing experience. Per MLS rules, the stream will be geofenced to viewers within the Bally Sports Midwest footprint.
