Sporting Kansas City is set to open the 2022 MLS campaign when the team faces off against Atlanta United FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium this afternoon. Both teams will be missing a number of key players heading into the marquee matchup.

  • OUT: Midfielder Machop Chol (Leg), midfielder Emerson Hyndman (Torn ACL), midfielder Jake Mulraney (Leg)
  • QUESTIONABLE: Defender Brooks Lennon (Ankle), midfielder Marcelino Moreno (Foot)

In addition, Sporting KC forward Nikola Vujnovic has yet to complete the immigration process, while Atlanta’s Thiago Almada and Santiago Sosa are questionable due to their visa status. Atlanta’s Franco Ibarra (visa) and Alan Franco (red card suspension) will both miss the game.

Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT (2:05 p.m. CT actual kick) on FS1 and FOX Deportes, while Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Grande 1340 AM (Spanish) will carry the game on the radio.
