Top seed Sporting Kansas City will kick off their quest for MLS Cup this afternoon when the side takes on the eighth seed San Jose Earthquakes at Children’s Mercy Park in the MLS Cup Playoffs Quarterfinals. Sporting finished the regular season atop the West with a 12-6-3 record (39 pts.), resulting in 1.86 points per game – the best clip in club history. San Jose (8-9-6, 30 pts.) went 6-3-1 to close out the season and earn a postseason berth with 1.30 points per game.
