Just after turning 2, Ryder developed a swollen eye that continued to worsen. On January 9, 2023, he was diagnosed with AML leukemia at Children’s Nebraska. From January through July, he bravely completed six rounds of chemotherapy, with his family forever grateful for the incredible care he received. The nurses became like family during one of the hardest seasons of their lives. Today, Ryder is a healthy, active 5-year-old who is always ready to play.
He has been in remission for 3.5 years, and his family hopes he will reach the five-year milestone. Ryder loves all things sports, especially soccer, baseball, football, and basketball. He even shot over 10,000 basketball shots this summer! His cancer journey changed his family forever, but they are incredibly grateful he is here today.
