Tryout Roundup: One player offered SPR trial, three invited back for SPR Invitational Trials

Nikola Popovic - Feb. 7

Sporting Kansas City and the Swope Park Rangers held their annual open tryouts from August 19-20 at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri. One player from the tryout was offered an extended trial with the Swope Park Rangers while three additional players were invited back for the SPR Invitational Trials later this year.

"We want to thank everyone that participated in our open tryouts at Swope Soccer Village," Sporting KC Assistant Technical Director Mike Jacobs said. "We were impressed with the level of talent that we saw at the trials and appreciate everyone's hard work and professionalism throughout the weekend."

Saul Corado, a 25-year-old midfielder from Spring Valley, New York, was the lone player to earn a trial with the Swope Park Rangers. Corado also participated in open tryouts in 2013 - earning a trial with the Sporting KC - but did not earn a contract with the club.

David Diawara, Faraz Gorgi and Danial Zuniga all earned an invitation to the SPR Invitational Trials later this year. Gorgi has previously participated in tryouts with Chelsea F.C. and Southend United F.C.
