U13 players attend PDP Training -

Sporting Kansas City Academy under-13 players Patrick Wilkinson and Roman Knox both attended US Club Soccer's Player Development Program training sessions last Saturday while the U13 team was competing at the 2011-12 Midwest Developmental League playoffs in Libertyville, Illinois. The teammates were two of 36 players born in 1999 invited to attend for the unique opportunity to play with and against the best players within their region.

Among the staff members at the PDP was U.S. Soccer Technical Advisor Tim Regan, who was in attendance to scout players for potential inclusion in future U.S. National Team Camps.

“This group in particular is the age group for our upcoming U-15 Boys National Team pool and throughout the course of the next 12 months, we will be bringing in 1999s to National Team Camps to view them,” said Regan. “Before we bring them in, we scout them and events like this are a good way for us to see a different pool of kids that we don’t see on a normal basis.”

Congratulations to both players, and to all of the U13's for going 2-1-0 at the MDL Playoffs with wins over the Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire academy teams.
