MLS pundits seem to disagree with what qualifies a soccer player as young. MLSsoccer.com does an annual 24 Under 24. The Columbus Crew blog Massive Report followed that up with a 21 Under 21. Today, Ives Galarcep released his U-23 Best XI.
But one thing they can agree upon is that whatever the age qualifier used, Sporting KC midfielder Oriol Rosell is on the list. The Barcelona youth product was No. 14 on MLSsoccer.com's list, No. 1 on Massive Report's list and secured the holding midfield spot in Galarcep's Best XI.
In his first full season in Kansas City, Rosell started 31 games and contributed one goal and two assist. Rosell led MLS in interceptions with 130 and also started all four of Sporting KC's 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League group stage matches.
