USSDA: Mixed results in Minnesota

On Friday, the Under-16 and Under-18 Sporting Kansas City Juniors both faced the Shattuck-Saint Mary’s Soccer Academy for their last game in the month of May.
The U16’s came away with a 2-2 tie with goals scored by
Cole Stevenson
in the 12th minute and
David Leichty
in the 57th minute. This was Leichty’s second goal of the season and Stevenson’s 12th, making him the team’s top scorer on the season. The squad is now
3-3-6 in the Frontier Division
and 5-5-9 overall. 
The U18’s fell short of a victory with a final score of 2-1.
Nate Opperman
scored for Sporting KC during the 66th minute of the game for his second goal of the season. The U18’s are now
2-7-3 in the Frontier Division
and 6-10-3 overall. 
Both teams will soon be wrapping up their 2011-2012 U.S. Soccer Development Academy seasons with only two games remaining, both at home. Sporting KC will face St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri on Sunday, June 10th and will have their last game of the season on Saturday June 16th against the Colorado Rush.
