Sporting Kansas City returns to the road to take on reigning MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy at 9:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at StubHub Center in Carson, California. The match will be broadcast live on SKCTV across the Midwest and available locally on KMCI-TV 38 the Spot with three hours of on-site coverage beginning at 9 p.m. CT.
A new episode of The Sporting KC Show will air on Sports Radio 810 WHB from 7-8 p.m. CT on Tuesday. Hosts Nate Bukaty, Andy Gruenebaum and Carter Augustine will discuss all the latest news in Major League Soccer and fans can join the discussion by calling 913-3-810-810. The station will also air The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame Show immediately following Saturday's match against the five-time MLS champions.
Also on Tuesday, Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Tim Melia will make a special appearance at Rosedale Middle School (3600 Springfield St.) in Kansas City, Kansas from 1:30-3 p.m. CT to kick off the team's new growSTEM program. Sporting KC partnered with Black & Veatch to launch a series of summer camps at Kansas City, Kansas middle schools to enhance interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among students in grades 6-8.
Sporting Kansas City captain Matt Besler has joined the U.S. Men's National Team for an international friendly against Mexico on Wednesday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The CONCACAF rivals will play at 7:30 p.m. CT live on FOX Sports 1, UniMas and UDN.
On Saturday, Sporting Kansas City defender Chance Myers will be in attendance for the grand opening of the Sunflower Soccer Complex (4829 NW 17th St.) in Topeka, Kansas from 11am - 12:30 p.m. CT. The ribbon cutting ceremony will also feature a Harvesters canned food drive, raffles and family-friendly activities.
