Sporting Kansas City will travel to Yankee Stadium to take on Eastern Conference leaders New York City FC (1-0-2) at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday. The teams first-ever meeting will air live locally on KMCI-TV 38 the Spot and across the Midwest on SKCTV with three hours of on-site coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT. The match can also be heard locally in English on 102.9 FM and in Spanish on La Gran D 1340 AM.


The team will host official watch parties at BurgerFi locations in Leawood, Kansas (11635 Ash St.) and Lawrence, Kansas (918 Massachusetts St.) featuring $5 Boulevard Wheat pints with souvenir glasses co-branded by Sporting KC, BurgerFi and Boulevard Brewing Company. Additionally, all children wearing Sporting KC gear will receive a free ice cream sundae during the watch parties.


Sporting Kansas City will train at 10 a.m. CT on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at Swope Soccer Village (6310 Lewis Rd.) in Kansas City, Missouri. Media are welcome to attend with player/coach availability taking place at the completion of each day's session. On Thursday, the team will host its weekly press conference at 12 p.m. CT with Manager Peter Vermes and a Sporting KC player at Swope Soccer Village.


Registration opens today for Sporting Kansas City's 2015 Open Tryouts, to be held June 13-14 at Swope Soccer Village. The team annually hosts tryouts for the first 200 players (18 years or older) that apply. 


Sporting KC has advanced to the Fightin' Four in KCSourceLink's annual Battle of the Brands and voting is available online until 4 p.m. CT on Tuesday. The team was crowned champions of the "Second Stage" portion of the 64-brand bracket and is currently paired against Dolce Bakery in the "Epic Eight." Sporting Kansas City finished runners-up in last year's edition of the competition, designed to shine the spotlight on KC entrepreneurship.


A new episode of The Sporting KC Show will air on Sports Radio 810 WHB from 7-8 p.m. CT on Tuesday live from Jazz, A Louisiana Kitchen (1859 Village West Parkway) at The Legends in Kansas City, Kansas. Hosts Nate Bukaty, Andy Gruenebaum and Carter Augustine will discuss all the latest news in Major League Soccer and will be joined by Sporting KC defender Jalil Anibaba. Three Sporting KC players will represent their national teams this week during the FIFA international dates from March 23-31. Midfielder Roger Espinoza is a member of the Honduras Men's National Team for a pair of matches against French Guiana on Wednesday and Sunday in a CONCACAF Gold Cup play-in series.


Defender Marcel de Jong has joined the Canada Men's National Team and will play Guatemala on Friday at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Sporting KC teammate Erik Palmer-Brown is also on international duty with the United States Under-20 Men's National Team for a training camp in England. The U.S. U20's will play the Tottenham Hotspurs U-21's on Friday before taking on the England U-21's on Sunday.


Palmer-Brown is a product of the Sporting KC Academy, who will open play in the 2014-15 Generation adidas Cup against Aspire Academy (Qatar) at 3 p.m. CT on Sunday at Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas. Sporting KC is one of six MLS academy teams to qualify for the Champions Division and was drawn into Group A alongside Aspire Academy, River Plate (Argentina) and Toronto FC (Canada).
