SPORTING KANSAS CITY HOSTS COLUMBUS ON SATURDAY


Sporting Kansas City returns home on Saturday for their first MLS regular season match since a 2-1 loss to the Montreal Impact on June 1. Sporting Kansas City faces the Columbus Crew in the first of three matches between the clubs this season. The match, sponsored by U.S. Bank, will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT and be broadcast live on KSMO-TV. A limited number of tickets are still available online at Ticketmaster.com or at the Sporting Park Box Offices.


JEROME, JOSEPH SELECTED BY HAITI FOR CONCACAF GOLD CUP 
Sporting Kansas City defender Mechack Jerome and midfielder Peterson Joseph have been selected to the Haiti Men's National Team for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The two players departed on Tuesday to join their National Team in Canada where they will spend two weeks playing friendly matches in preparation for the tournament. Haiti will play Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago and El Salvador in the group stage beginning on July 8.


Jerome and Joseph both appeared for Haiti in international friendlies against Spain and Italy earlier this month.


Sporting Kansas City has three additional players on the United States preliminary Gold Cup roster. Matt Besler, Benny Feilhaber and Graham Zusi are among the players available for selection by head coach Jurgen Klinsmann. The final rosters are due to CONCACAF on Thursday.


MIKEY LOPEZ MAKES TWO APPEARANCES AT FIFA U-20 WORLD CUP 
Sporting KC's 2013 MLS SuperDraft first round pick Mikey Lopez was named to the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team roster for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. The Under-20's fell 4-1 to Spain in their first match of the tournament followed by a 1-1 draw against France on Monday. Lopez appeared in both matches as a second-half substitute.


The U-20's play their final match in the group stage on Thursday against Ghana at 12 p.m. CT. The match will be live on ESPNU, WatchESPN and Univision Deportes. A win will give the U.S. a chance to advance to the Round of 16.


PETER VERMES AND GRAHAM ZUSI TO MEET THE PRESS ON FRIDAY
Sporting Kansas City's Peter Vermes and Graham Zusi will be available to media at 12 p.m. CT on Friday during Sporting KC's weekly press conference at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park.


Zusi re-joined Sporting Kansas City last week after helping the U.S. Men's National Team move into first place in the final round of FIFA World Cup Qualifying.


SIX SPORTING KC PLAYERS ON BALLOT FOR MLS ALL-STAR VOTING 
Six Sporting Kansas City nominees are among the 115 players who were nominated for the 2013 AT&T MLS All-Star Game fan ballot by a panel of media members. Sporting KC's representatives are defender Matt Besler, forward Claudio Bieler, defender Aurelien Collin, goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen, midfielder Oriol Rosell and midfielder Graham Zusi.


Fan voting will continue through July 2 online at MLSSoccer.com and via text, by messaging the player's last name to 22442.


SPORTING KC EARNS 2-2 DRAW AT FC DALLAS
Sporting Kansas City moved to 3-2-3 on the road this season with a 2-2 draw against FC Dallas at FC Dallas Stadium on Saturday. Kei Kamara opened the scoring in the 43rd minute when he converted a penalty kick. Andrew Jacobson was whistled for a foul after dragging down Aurelien Collin inside the 18-yard-box.


Sporting KC doubled their lead in the 57th minute of the match when FC Dallas midfielder Je-Vaughn Watson deflected a Graham Zusi corner kick past Raul Fernandez. FC Dallas earned the come-from-behind draw, scoring two goals in the 88th and 90th minutes of the match to extend their home unbeaten streak to a club-record 13 matches.


Over 650 Kansas City supporters made the trip to Frisco, Texas to view the lone match between the two clubs during the 2013 regular season.


MLS ALL-STARS TO HOST AS ROMA IN 2013 AT&T MLS ALL-STAR GAME
This year, Major League Soccer will play Italian giants AS Roma in the 2013 AT&T MLS All-Star Game. The marquee match will be played Wednesday, July 31 at Sporting Park. The annual summer showcase will be broadcast live on ESPN2, UniMás, and in Canada on TSN and RDS starting at 8 p.m. CT.


In conjunction with the game will be five days of festivities featuring KC landmarks including a free concert featuring the Silversun Pickups in the Power and Light District on Tuesday, July 30.


THE SPORTING KC SHOW AIRS ON SPORTS RADIO 810 WHB
Sporting KC defender Lawrence Olum joined Sports Radio 810 WHB and the Sporting KC Show with hosts Callum Williams and Andy Edwards at La Bodega on Tuesday. The Show discussed last weekend's 2-2 draw at FC Dallas and previewed Saturday's matchup versus the Columbus Crew on Saturday at Sporting Park. Columbus Crew striker Dominic Oduro joined the conversation from Columbus by calling into the show. You can listen to the full podcast here.


OFF THE PITCH TO AIR ON KSMO-TV ON THURSDAY
Sporting Kansas City's monthly television series Off The Pitch, hosted by Callum Williams and Jake Yadrich, will air on Thursday from 7-8 p.m. CT on KSMO-TV. The June edition features Sporting KC defenders Kevin Ellis and Ike Opara.


FOUR SPORTING KC PLAYERS PARTICIPATE IN YOUTH CLINIC 
Matt Besler, Jimmy Nielsen, Michael Thomas and Graham Zusi joined local youth soccer players on Thursday for a clinic hosted by the Sporting Club Network and Mainstreet Credit Union in conjunction with the Kick It Club at Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park on Tuesday.

JIMMY NIELSEN TO HOST BOOK SIGNING EVENTS THIS WEEK
Jimmy Nielsen will be making three community appearances in the next four days. On Thursday, Nielsen will be at the Kansas Sampler in Overland Park, KS at 6 p.m. CT followed by appearances on Friday and Sunday at Costco in Kansas City, MO (2 p.m. CT) and Independence, MO (2 p.m. CT) respectively.


SPORTING KC DRAWN INTO GROUP 2 OF CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Sporting Kansas City was drawn into Group 2 of the 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League at the official draw in Miami. Sporting KC will face C.D. Olimpia of Honduras and Real Estelí FC of Nicaragua in a home-and-away series with the group winner advancing to the quarterfinal round.

Sporting KC announced that individual tickets for the final eight MLS home matches are on sale now. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com or at the Sporting Park Box Offices.


SINGLE-DAY TICKETS ON SALE NOW FOR FLATLANDS FESTIVAL
Single-day tickets for the Flatlands Country Music Festival at Sporting Park from Sept. 12-14 are on sale to the general public, starting as low as $59 each. The new country music and camping festival, presented by Marquee Events and Sporting Club, will feature performances from several of the most popular artists in country music over three days.


Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Rodney Atkins, Thompson Square and Kevin Fowler will perform on Friday, Sept. 13. Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Kellie Pickler, Love and Theft, and JT Hodges will then take the stage on Sat., Sept. 14.

SPORTING KC SEASON TICKETS SOLD OUT FOR 2013 SEASON
Sporting Kansas City announced that the club's allotment of 14,000 season tickets for the 2013 season at Sporting Park are sold out. Prospective Season Ticket Members may join the club's Season Ticket Member waiting list by placing a $50 non-refundable deposit per season ticket request.


Sporting Kansas City currently leads all MLS teams in the total number of new Season Ticket Members for 2013 and have averaged over a 90% Season Ticket Member renewal rate for the last three seasons.


Sporting Kansas City are also selling five-game 'Pick Plans.' All plans include the team's match on July 3 against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC as well as four additional Sporting KC matches of the buyer's choice, including U.S. Open Cup, CONCACAF Champions League or any of the remaining MLS regular season games.


SPORTING PARK TO HOST U.S. MNT IN WORLD CUP QUALIFIER 
Sporting Park will host the U.S. Men's National Team on Oct. 11 in the team's final home qualifying match for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The United States returns to Sporting Park to play Jamaica, live on the ESPN family, WatchESPN and UniMas at 8 p.m. CT. Ticket information will be released at a later date.


Sporting Park, home to Major League Soccer's Sporting Kansas City, will host the U.S. Men's National Team for the third time since opening in June 2011. The state-of-the-art, $200+ million venue will also host the 2013 MLS All-Star Game on July 31.

The three companies that remain from the large grouping along with Sporting KC are the Kansas City Renaissance Festival, Sprint and Indigo Wild. For this semi-final round, Sporting KC is up head-to-head against the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. The winner of the head-to-head pairing will be announced on July 1 and advance to face the winner of Sprint/Indigo Wild for a chance to be crowned overall winners on July 9.
