SPORTING KC HOSTS COLUMBUS ON SATURDAY AT SPORTING PARK


Sporting KC welcomes the Columbus Crew to Sporting Park on Saturday. The match will be broadcast live on KSMO-TV at 7:30 p.m. CT with pre-game coverage beginning at 7 p.m. CT.
Columbus faces the Houston Dynamo in a mid-week match tonight at Crew Stadium. Columbus most recently suffered a pair of losses against the Seattle Sounders FC and Real Salt Lake. A limited number of tickets are still available for Saturday's match and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com.
SPORTING PARK BOX OFFICE TO SHIFT TO GAMEDAY HOURS ONLY


Beginning on Friday, Sept. 13, the Sporting Park Box Offices will only operate on gamedays for the remainder of the 2013 season. Please note the following gameday box office hours:

  • East Box Office
    • 10 a.m. CT - Halftime
  • West Box Office
    • 3 hours prior to kickoff - Halftime

SPORTING KC MOVES ATOP EAST WITH WIN OVER COLORADO


Sporting Kansas City defeated the Colorado Rapids 2-1 on Saturday courtesy of Graham Zusi's 88th minute game-winner assisted by Chance Myers and C.J. Sapong. The victory catapulted Sporting KC back atop the East and into a three-way tie for first place with the Montreal Impact and the New York Red Bulls.
Sporting Kansas City struck first on Saturday as Benny Feilhaber curled a 30-yard shot past Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Clint Irwin. Dom Dwyer earned his first career assist on the play. Colorado's Edson Buddle leveled the score in the 77th minute as his volley ricocheted off Sporting KC defender Matt Besler and past Jimmy Nielsen.
DOM DWYER RE-JOINS ORLANDO CITY FOR USL PRO CHAMPIONSHIP


Dom Dwyer will re-join Sporting KC's USL PRO affiliate Orlando City SC in advance of the club's championship match on Saturday against the Charlotte Eagles. The match will be held at Orlando City's home field, Fifth Third Bank Field at the Florida Citrus Bowl, and is scheduled to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. CT. The match will stream live online at USLnation.com.
ZUSI AND BESLER SELECTED FOR U.S. MNT WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS


Sporting Kansas City All-Stars Graham Zusi and Matt Besler are with the U.S. Men's National Team for Friday's FIFA World Cup Qualifier in Costa Rica. The match will be broadcast live on beIN SPORT at 9 p.m. CT.
JEROME AND JOSEPH WITH HAITIAN NATIONAL TEAM


Sporting Kansas City's Mechack Jerome and Peterson Joseph were selected by the Haitian Football Federation for an international friendly against South Korea at 6 a.m. CT on Friday in Seoul, South Korea. Both players joined the Haitian National Team on Monday and will miss Sporting KC's match against Columbus on Saturday.
PETER VERMES AND PAULO NAGAMURA TO MEET THE PRESS TOMORROW


Sporting Kansas City will hold the team's weekly press conference at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park at 12 p.m. CT on Thursday. Sporting KC Manager Peter Vermes and midfielder Paulo Nagamura will be available for questions previewing Saturday's match against the Colorado Rapids.




FORWARD KEI KAMARA TRANSFERS TO MIDDLESBROUGH FC


Sporting Kansas City announced on Monday that the club has agreed to transfer forward Kei Kamara to Middlesbrough FC (Football League Championship) in England. Sporting Kansas City will receive two-thirds of the substantial transfer fee to use as allocation money per MLS rules.
SPORTING PARK TO HOST U.S. MNT IN WORLD CUP QUALIFIER


Sporting Park will host the U.S. Men's National Team on Oct. 11 in the team's final home qualifying match for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in front of a sold out crowd. The U.S. MNT returns to Sporting Park to play Jamaica, live on ESPN, WatchESPN and UniMas at 5:30 p.m. CT.
PETER VERMES TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE NATIONAL SOCCER HALL OF FAME ON OCTOBER 11


U.S. Soccer announced that the former U.S. Men's National Team forwards Peter Vermes and Joe-Max Moore will be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame on Oct. 11 in a ceremony taking place at 2 p.m. CT on the Sprint Plaza at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan.

Single-day tickets for the Flatlands Country Music Festival at Sporting Park from Sept. 12-14 are on sale to the general public, starting as low as $59 each. The new country music and camping festival, presented by Marquee Events and Sporting Club, will feature performances from several of the most popular artists in country music over three days.
Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Rodney Atkins, Thompson Square and Kevin Fowler will perform on Friday, Sept. 13. Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Kellie Pickler, Love and Theft, and JT Hodges will then take the stage on Sat., Sept. 14.

Sporting Kansas City is now taking deposits for new season ticket members for the 2014 season at state-of-the-art Sporting Park. The non-refundable deposits are $150 per seat for premium areas and $50 per seat for all other sections and provide fans with priority position for securing full season tickets in 2014. Additionally, all fans on the Sporting Kansas City season ticket member waiting list will be given access to pre-sale opportunities for select special events at Sporting Park (subject to availability).
