Sporting Kansas City midfielder Graham Zusi is one of Major League Soccer's five nominees for AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 23. Voting runs through 11:59 PT on Thursday, August 25th and fans can register their vote for the Sporting KC playmaker online at the poll above or by texting G1 to 22442. The week's winner will be announced on Friday.
Zusi struck in the 25th minute of Sporting Kansas City's 3-1 win over the Portland Timbers at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park last Wednesday, collecting a header from Timbers defender Rodney Wallace and firing a right-footed blast from more than 30 yards out that arched over Timbers goalkeeper Troy perkins and into the upper corner of the far post.
The third-year pro from the University of Maryland went on to score again 15 minutes later and was named MLS Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters on Monday. Zusi, previously recognized as MLS Player of the Month for June, now has five goals and four assists this season.
