Career Summary

Sporting KC acquired goalkeeper Alex Riggs on loan from St. Louis FC (USL) for a U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 match against FC Dallas on July 1.

PROFESSIONAL: Riggs began his professional career with the Columbus Crew in 2011 as a teammate of Sporting KC midfielder Bernardo Anor and most recently signed with St. Louis FC prior to the start of the 2015 United Soccer League season. Riggs was on the bench during Sporting KC’s 1-0 victory over St. Louis FC on June 16 in the U.S. Open Cup fourth round.

COLLEGE: Riggs played in 64 matches at Missouri State University from 2006-2010. He posted a 28-25-10 record during his tenure with 279 saves and a 0.92 goals against average. He earned Missouri Valley Conference honors as Defensive Player of the Year (2009) and Goalkeeper of the Year (2010).
