Career Summary

U.S. international midfielder Brad Davis joined Sporting KC in January 2016 for his final MLS season. He tallied 60 goals and 132 assists (including postseason) during a 15-year MLS career highlighted by 2006 and 2007 MLS Cup championships, 2011 MLS Best XI honors and six MLS All-Star selections. His 123 assists in the regular season are third most in MLS history, while his 392 regular season appearances rank second all-time among field players. He announced his retirement on Oct. 23, 2016.

A native of St. Charles, Missouri, Davis ended his 10-year stay in Houston as the Dynamo’s all-time leader in regular season games played (271), starts (252) and assists (104). In addition to winning two MLS Cups, Davis led Houston to seven playoff trips between 2006-2015, including four MLS Cup appearances in 2006, 2007, 2011 and 2012. He also featured in four editions of the CONCACAF Champions League (2008-10, 2012-14) and the 2010 North American SuperLiga.

The left-footed midfielder reached double figures in assists seven times overall, a feat matched only by Landon Donovan.


2016: Started 15 of 27 appearances in all competitions, recording three goals and two assists (1452 minutes played). MLS regular season: Started 14 of 24 appearances, recording two goals and one assist (1300 minutes played). Made his Sporting KC debut in the second half of a 2-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on March 12 at Children's Mercy Park. Bagged the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Toronto FC on March 12, his first goal for Sporting KC. Made his 400th career MLS appearance on April 17 at FC Dallas, becoming just the fifth player in MLS history to reach the milestone. Scored a spectacular goal in a 1-1 draw against LA Galaxy on May 1. Recorded his first Sporting KC assist to Dom Dwyer in a 2-2 draw at FC Dallas on Aug. 13. Open Cup: Made two substitute appearances (62 minutes played) and scored one goal. Played 30 minutes as a second-half substitute in a 2-1 extra time win over Minnesota United FC on June 15. Played 32 minutes as a second-half substitute and scored a goal in a 3-1 fifth round loss at the Houston Dynamo on June 29. CONCACAF Champions League: Started and played 90 minutes in a 2-2 draw at Central FC on Aug. 16, assisting Kevin Ellis' game-tying goal in the 70th minute. MLS Cup Playoffs: Did not feature.
