2018: Benitez made eight appearances, including one start, in his first professional season with the Rangers. He made his debut with a start against Seattle Sounders FC 2 on March 24, helping the side to a 4-2 victory. His last appearance of the season came on Aug. 4 against Orange County as he battled injuries during the second half of the campaign.
SKC Academy: Benitez joined the Sporting KC Academy ahead of the 2014-15 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Season after relocating from Charlotte, North Carolina. He advanced through the age groups over the next few seasons before becoming a consistent contributor for the Under-19 squad. He has made 11 appearances for the Sporting KC U-19s this season, adding three goals. In the 2016-17 campaign, Benitez played in 27 games and tallied five times for the U-18s.
Personal: Benitez was born and raised in Ibarra, Ecuador, before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina at the age of 13. He then relocated to Kansas City in 2014 to join the Sporting KC Academy.
