Bunbury Scores in Stoke Reserve Match

Striker Teal Bunbury continued his torrid MLS off-season form today with a goal for the Stoke City reserve squad in a match against Wigan Athletic. Incorrectly labled as "on trial" by Stoke City's website, Bunbury added to his impressive offseason which has already included his first U.S. National Team appearance and three goals and one assist on the Generation adidas trip to Spain. Reports also indicate that Bunbury could be receiving a call to the U.S. National Team's annual January training camp.

Bunbury opened the scoring midway through the first half, latching onto a through ball from one-time Kansas City target Eidur Gudjohnsen and slotting home to put Stoke up 1-0. Bunbury, who is training in England to gain further experience, played the full 90 minutes. Stoke fielded a strong lineup to start the game, including Gudjohnsen, Glenn Whelan, Marc Wilson and Danny Higginbotham.
