Saturday’s match is the first of three games in eight days for Sporting Kansas City (1-5-1), as the club hosts the New England Revolution on Wednesday, May 25th at the Blue Valley District Activities Complex in the final round of qualifying for the 2011 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup before returning to the road next Saturday against the Colorado Rapids in MLS play.

After missing the last five games, Designated Player Omar Bravo is listed as probable after recovering from a sports hernia injury and is expected to be available for selection on Saturday to bolster a Sporting KC attack that has been shutout twice in the last four matches after opening the year with eight goals in the first three games.

The Sounders (3-3-5), meanwhile, enter in fifth place in the Western Conference and have lost just once in their last nine matches. Seattle leads the all-time series with Sporting Kansas City 3-1-0 after entering Major League Soccer in 2009. Sporting KC handed the Sounders their first-ever MLS defeat at Qwest Field, but have lost the last three MLS matches between the two teams.
