Sporting Kansas City continues their playoff push with a vital Eastern Conference match-up against the Columbus Crew at 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. The first 5,000 fans will receive a free Sporting Kansas City t-shirt, courtesy of Wednesday’s match sponsor Pepsi, and all in attendance can take advantage of Buck-A-Brat Night, courtesy of Johnsonville and Roma Bakery.

Tickets for the match are available online or at the LIVESTRONG Sporting Park Box Offices. The match will be broadcast live locally on KSMO-TV, beginning with a 30-minute pre-game show.

Sporting Kansas City trails in the all-time series against Columbus with a record of 17-20-5 since the two sides first squared off during Major League Soccer’s inaugural season in 1996. This is the second meeting between the two sides in 2011, with Columbus (9-7-12) earning a 1-0victory in April.

Both clubs are currently tied for second place in the Eastern Conference, one point behind the Houston Dynamo, and enter Wednesday night’s contest with four games remaining in the 2011 regular season. Heading into Wednesday’s match, the Crew face significant worries on the injury front. Defender ChadMarshall is at risk of missing only his second match of the season with a left ankle sprain, while midfielder Eddie Gaven could return from a lower leg contusion that has kept him out of the team’s last seven MLS matches.

For Sporting Kansas City, midfielder Roger Espinoza’s participation is in question due to a left quad strain, while Luke Sassano (R knee sprain), Daneil Cyrus (L foot fracture) and Konrad Warzycha (R knee surgery) will all be unavailable on Wednesday.
