Sporting Kansas City enters their final match of the 2011 regular season with a chance to top the Eastern Conference for the first time in club history, after winning the Western Conference on three previous occasions.
Sporting Kansas City are assured of a spot in the 2011 MLS Cup Playoffs and tickets for the upcoming postseason at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park went on sale Friday. Tickets can be purchased here, by calling 888-4KC-GOAL or by visiting the box offices located at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park.
Saturday's contest will play a large part in determining Sporting Kansas City's position in the 2011 MLS Cup Playoffs. A victory will see Sporting Kansas City crowned Eastern Conference champions and the club will then await a postseason match-up with one of the four wild card teams. A draw against D.C. United guarantees Sporting Kansas City one of the top three spots in the Eastern Conference, pending results from the Columbus Crew and Houston Dynamo matches.

D.C. United (9-12-12) currently sits in seventh place in the Eastern Conference after being eliminated from playoff contention following a 1-1 draw with the Portland Timbers on Wednesday. Sporting Kansas City won the first meeting between the two sides in 2011, posting a 1-0 victory over D.C. United at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park on August 27th.
