The Sporting KC U16 and U18 Juniors played their first away matches of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy's spring season on Saturday, visiting St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri at the SLSG Facility.
The U18's walked away with a 1-1 draw and remain unbeaten in the Frontier Division (1-0-1, 5-3-1). Liberal High School's Eduardo Moreno scored in the 10th minute before SLSG Missouri's Justin Bilyeu (CBC) pulled the teams level four minutes later on a free kick from the top of the penalty area. The U16's dropped their first match of the Spring with a 1-0 loss on Saturday in the second game of the doubleheader. SLSG Missouri scored the game's lone goal on a sliding finish from Brett Hodges (Howell Central) midway through the 2nd half, following a scramble off a long throw-in into the six-yard box.
