SPORTING KANSAS CITY TO HOST MONTREAL IMPACT ON SATURDAY

Sporting Kansas City will host the Montreal Impact on Saturday, May 5 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. Kickoff for the match, presented by Panasonic, is at 7:30 p.m. CT, with live television coverage on KSMO beginning at 7 p.m. CT. 


A limited amount of tickets for the match are still available and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or at the LIVESTRONG Sporting Park box offices. 


SPORTING KC DRAWS 2-2 WITH FC DALLAS IN RESERVE LEAGUE

Sporting Kansas City got goals from Michael Thomas and Dom Dwyer to earn a 2-2 draw against FC Dallas on Tuesday night in MLS Reserve League action at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park.

JIMMY NIELSEN WINS MLS SAVE OF THE WEEK

Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen was the recipient of Save of the Week for Week 7 in Major League Soccer. The White Puma received the most votes among fans for his finger-tip stop during the team's 3-1 win at the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. 


The team's 2011 Most Valuable Player, Nielsen leads all MLS goalkeepers with a 0.38 goals against average and five shutouts.


REGISTER FOR THE SPORTING CLUB 3v3 CLASSIC TOURNAMENT

GSI Sports & Sporting Kansas City are proud to host the 13th annual Sporting Club 3v3 Classic on July 7, 2012 at the Stump Park Soccer Complex in Shawnee, Kan. All teams will receive tickets to the Sporting KC vs. Houston Dynamo match and championship games will be played at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park after Sporting Kansas City's Eastern Conference championship rematch with the Dynamo.

KEI KAMARA TO APPEAR AT BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH CANCER BATTLER CUP


Headlined by the appearance of Kei Kamara, one of Sporting Kansas City's brightest stars, Cancer Battler Cup III will take place Thursday, May 10, at Blue Springs South High School's Larry Stewart Stadium. Hosted by the Blue Springs High School Soccer Alumni Association, Cancer Battler Cup III (CBCIII) is a community event that will benefit the Jennifer Ireland Foundation. The night will center on a varsity girls' soccer match between the Blue Springs Wildcat girls and the Blue Springs South Jaguar girls at 5:00 & 6:30pm as Jennifer played and managed soccer at Blue Springs in the years before she succumbed to colon cancer in 2007 at age 27.


MAKE IT 'APPEN: DESIGN A SPORTING KC APP AND WIN SEASON TICKETS

Sporting Kansas City has announced a one-of-a-kind opportunity for amateur developers. Sporting Kansas City needs your ideas for a game or app associated with soccer that can be played on a mobile device. The creator of the winning idea will receive two Sporting Kansas City Season Tickets for the 2013 season and on-field recognition at a Sporting KC match.


To submit an entry, visit SportingMembership.com/AppContest and complete the online application form at the bottom of the page. The deadline to submit entries is midnight on Monday, June 3. 


All entries will be reviewed by a panel (comprised of Sporting Kansas City front office personnel) to determine up to four finalists.  Finalists will be determined by Monday, June 25. Each finalist will then have the opportunity to pitch their idea in person to this panel.  The winner will be announced at the July 21 Sporting KC match vs. New England Revolution.

SPECIAL SPORTING KC BRA SHOWCASED AT ART BRA KC DISPLAY AT HALL'S ON THE PLAZA

A special Sporting Kansas City themed bra will be on display at Hall's on the Country Club Plaza as part Art Bra KC 2012, a unique and fun art auction that celebrates the bra as an empowering symbol of triumph over breast cancer, and as a work-of-art that can benefit those breast cancer patients just beginning, or still on, the journey. 


Art Bra KC 2012 will be held Friday, May 4 and Sporting Kansas City defender Matt Besler and midfielder Michael Thomas plan to attend the event at the Midland. Attending alongside Thomas will be his aunt, Cindy Whittman, who is a breast cancer survivor.

SPORTING KC LAUNCHES GOAL FOR GILLIS

Sporting Kansas City has partnered with Gillis to launch Goals for Gillis, a program that will raise money to help at-risk children and families with every goal Sporting Kansas City scores throughout the 2012 season.


Fans can participate by making a pledge starting at $1 for every goal that Sporting Kansas City scores during the 2012 season. The top four Goals for Gillis fundraisers will be recognized online and at a special event with Heineman and Sporting Kansas City forward Kei Kamara after the completion of the 2012 season.
