Sporting KC Juniors goalkeeper coach Boris Pardo is one of three goalkeepers and 22 players currently with the United States Futsal National Team for their training camp in Torrance, Calif. The team, announced Monday, is coached by Keith Tozer and will train through Friday in preparation for the 2012 CONCACAF Futsal Championship this July in Guatemala.

Pardo first arrived in Kansas City in 2007 as a MLS League Pool goalkeeper and was signed by the club for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. The Seton Hall standout has since played for the Missouri Comets of the MISL each of the last two seasons while serving on the coaching staff for the Sporting Kansas City Juniors youth development academy.

He's joined on the national team roster by fellow Comets goalkeeper Danny Waltman, as well as several other players with KC connections:

  • Patrick Healey was selected by KC in the 2008 MLS Supplemental Draft
  • Sandre Naumoski began his indoor career with the Kansas City Comets in 2003-2004
  • Bryan Perez played collegiately at UMKC from 2006-2009 and has played for the Missouri Comets and Kansas City Brass
  • Byron Alvarez was the 2010-11 MISL MVP and has played each of the last two years with the Comets
