The Sporting Kansas City U16 and U18 Academy teams will host St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri on Sunday at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park. The U.S. Soccer Development Academy matches will be the 20th of the 21-game 2011-12 season for both squads, who will look to secure results against their cross-state rivals.
The U18s (2-7-3, 6-10-3) will open the doubleheader at 3pm and will be up against an SLSG side that is unbeaten in their last six USSDA matches (6-3-4, 9-5-6). The two teams drew 1-1 in their previous meeting in March in St. Louis.
Conversely, the U16s (3-3-6, 5-5-9) will be looking to even the season series after falling 1-0 earlier in the year when their match kicks off at 5:30pm. SLSG's U16's sit in first place in the Frontier Division with eight wins, most of all teams, but are coming off a 1-0 loss on Tuesday in Colorado.
