On Sunday, the Sporting Kansas City Under-16 and Under-18 academy teams hosted cross-state rivals St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park.
The U18’s came away with a 1-0 win with the goal coming from
Eduardo Moreno
, the team’s top scorer in the 2011-12 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season. Moreno scored the game-winning goal with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game to give him 10 goals on the season, tying him for most in the Frontier Division. Moreno, who also
earned his first minutes in the 2012 MLS Reserve League
on Saturday in Colorado, helped the
U18's improve to 6-10-3 overall
and 2-7-3 in their division.
The U16’s fell short of a victory with a 3-0 loss in the second game of the USSDA doubleheader (

3-3-6 in the Frontier Division and 5-5-9 overall
